An overtime goal from Brian Boyle saw the Tampa Bay Lightning edge out the New York Islanders in their Eastern Conference second-round clash.
Boyle’s marker 2:48 beyond regulation gave the Lightning a 5-4 success at Barclays Center which puts them 2-1 ahead in the best-of-seven series. The fourth match takes place at the same venue on Friday.

The Nashville Predators got their campaign up and running with a 4-1 defeat of the San Jose Sharks.
Patrick Marleau gave the Sharks a first-period lead but James Neal, Shea Weber, Colin Wilson and Filip Forsberg (powerplay) all scored as the Predators turned things around ahead of Thursday’s fourth match in the series.

David Backes and Alexander Steen both scored twice as the St Louis Blues overturned an early deficit to beat the Dallas Stars 6-1 and go 2-1 up. Again, the fourth match in the series takes place on Thursday.
