Moores turns down chance to coach Pakistan

Former England coach Peter Moores has revealed that he turned down the chance at the Pakistan top job, but felt the move would not be the right one for his family.

Moores, who was sacked as England coach a year ago and has not led a side since, had discussions with the PCB regarding the job that Waqar Younis vacated, but chose not to let the process go further.

Moores, who is working with Nottinghamshire this season, told Cricinfo: "I was hugely flattered to be approached. And I was very tempted by such a prestigious role with an exciting team.

"But having thought about it deeply, I don't think it is the right time for me or my family.

"I have committed myself to a consultancy role with Nottinghamshire and I am enjoying spending time with my kids as they grow up."

As a result, the search for Waqar's replacement continues, after he quit the job after two years amidst heated works between the board, coaches, and players due to poor form and selection issues.
