Impressive White Sox win again

The Chicago White Sox's impressive start to the new MLB season continued on Wednesday night as a 4-0 success over the Toronto Blue Jays made it six wins in a row.

Dioner Navarro hit a two-run triple to open the scoring in the seventh inning and Jose Quintana struck out 10 opponents for their fifth shutout of the campaign.

Dustin Pedroia hit a grand slam home run to lead the Boston Red Sox to a 9-4 triumph over the Atlanta Braves.

With all three bases loaded in the third inning, Pedroia hit a fly ball to drive in four runs as his side made it four straight victories.

The San Francisco Giants prevailed in a high-scoring game with the San Diego Padres which ended 13-4.

Brandon Belt scored five runs, including a first-inning home run, with Hunter Pence adding two RBI to ensure a clean sweep for the Giants against the Padres.

Joey Rickard's three-run homer ensured the Baltimore Orioles beat the Tampa Bay Rays 3-1, while Darin Ruf, Cesar Hernadez and Carlos Ruiz drove home the runs for the Philadelphia Phillies in their 3-0 win over the Washington Nationals and Neil Walker scored his ninth home run of the season in the New York Mets' 5-2 win over the Cincinnati Reds.

The Detroit Tigers enjoyed a 9-4 win over the Oakland Athletics, the Texas Rangers edged out the New York Yankees 3-2, the Cleveland Indians beat the Minnesota Twins 6-5 and the Los Angeles Angels downed the Kansas City Royals 4-2.

The Los Angeles Dodgers were defeated 2-0 by the Miami Marlins, the St Louis Cardinals hammered the Arizona Diamondbacks 11-4, the Houston Astros toppled the Seattle Mariners 7-4 and the Pittsburgh Pirates needed 12 innings to get past the Colorado Rockies 9-8.

The Chicago Cubs clash with the Milwaukee Bucks fell victim to the weather.
