Watch as a stuntman turns his back on an approaching Formula E car and executes a thrilling backflip over it.
Damien Walters, a world-renowned gymnast and free-runner, was the man brave enough for the task and he was happy with the result.
“I’ve done loads of dangerous stunts in my career, but I’ve got to admit that I’ve never been as nervous as I was for this one,” quipped the 34-year-old, who has appeared as a stunt double for Daniel Craig in the latest James Bond film Skyfall.
“I’m thrilled with how it worked out though, and it’s a credit to Formula E that they gave us the opportunity to do something so dramatic!”
Driving the car at exactly 97kph down the finishing straight was stunt driver Alistair Whitton, who has worked in blockbusters such as The Dark Knight.
The crew went through a number of dry runs before Walters made the attempt, after which he looked quite relieved…
