Cyd Demecillo out 2 weeks with knee sprain

Fret not, La Salle fans. Cyd Demecillo’s injury isn’t as serious as it first appeared to be.

After getting stretchered off the FilOil Flying V Center after the Lady Spikers beat UP in the UAAP Season 78 women’s volleyball tournament Wednesday, the senior spiker was brought to the Makati Medical Center for tests.

The early result, according to Kim Fajardo, seems positive.

“Knee sprain daw po,” she told FOX Sports in a text message. “Two weeks rest.”

If Demecillo is, indeed, out for the next couple of weeks, she will miss La Salle’s game against Adamson on Saturday at the Philsports Arena.

But the wily spiker could be back in harness when the Lady Spikers take on UE on April 2. — By Mac Dionisio
