The Waratahs were left bruised after their defeat to the Brumbies on Friday, with three players injured during the encounter at Canberra Stadium.
Hooker Tatafu Polota-Nau and backs Rob Horne and Bryce Hegarty sustained possible lengthy injuries during their 32-15 beating, and the New South Wales side could also be without hooker Tolu Latu when they face the Highlanders at home in two weeks after the replacement hooker was cited for punching Brumbies centre Matt Toomua in the second half.
Australian international Polota-Nau fractured his arm, while fly-half Hegarty was hit by suspected anterior cruciate ligament trauma, and Wallabies centre Horne also injured his knee.
Waratahs Head Coach Daryl Gibson had a composed reaction when asked about the injuries to his side.
“It was a tough night,” said Gibson.
“But injuries are all part of the season and that’s why you have a squad.”
