Miami Heat power forward Chris Bosh has admitted that he has been highly impressed with Gerald Green's performance throughout the pre-season.
Green, who signed a veteran's minimum deal with the Heat in July, averaged 16.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists in the seven pre-season games he played.
However, Green outdid himself during the Heat's game against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday, as he came off the bench and scored 28 points on eight of 14 shooting to go along with nine rebounds, one assist, one steal and a block in just under 25 minutes of action.
Bosh is now hoping that Green can keep posting figures like that throughout the 2015/16 NBA season, which gets underway next Tuesday.
"Coach is allowing Gerald to be who he is, 'Mr. Instant Offense'. He is playing incredible offense right now ," Bosh told reporters.
"The part I like about it most is he is bringing that energy and toughness on the defensive end as well. With the talent that we have, we have to continue to give that effort. I'm happy that he is playing that well. I want him to keep that enthusiasm when things get tough."
