Penguins fight back; Devils downed

The Pittsburgh Penguins produced an impressive 3-2 come-from-behind win over the Florida Panthers in the NHL on Saturday night.

The Panthers were 75 seconds away from a 2-1 victory until Sidney Crosby’s goal for the Penguins forced overtime.

Then in the additional period, Kris Letang scored his second goal of the game to earn the victory.

Alex Ovechkin scored the shootout goal which gave the Washington Capitals a 3-2 success over the New Jersey Devils.

After it ended 2-2 after the regulation period, Ovechkin scored the decisive goal to give the Capitals a third shootout success of the season.

The Ottawa Senators snapped a three-game losing streak as they dominated the Toronto Maple Leafs in a 6-1 win.

The tone was set after Zack Smith scored after just 19 seconds and it got better as they raced into a 6-0 lead after just two minutes of the third period.

After scoring with 13 seconds of the game remaining, the New York Rangers went on to earn a 3-2 shootout victory over the Philadelphia Flyers.

Keith Yandle scored at the death to level at 2-2 and then Mats Zuccarello and Derek Stepan then converted in the shootout.

Brad Marchand scored an overtime winner to give the Boston Bruins a 2-1 success over the Buffalo Sabres while the Nashville Predators were 6-2 victors over the San Jose Sharks.

The Chicago Blackhawks, Montreal Canadiens and the Detroit Red Wings all won by the same 5-1 scoreline against the Dallas Stars, Edmonton Oilers and New York Islanders respectively.

The St Louis Blues beat the Minnesota Wild 4-1 and the Calgary Flames did likewise against the Vancouver Canucks while the Winnipeg Jets saw off the Colorado Avalanche 4-2.
