Evans values Wales opportunity

Wales prop Rob Evans understands that the onus is now on him to exploit the opportunity that has been presented to him ahead of the Six Nations fixture against Ireland on Sunday.

Evans was selected ahead of Gethin Jenkins for the match and is well aware of the expectation that will come with the territory.

“It’s definitely a big opportunity for me but Gethin and Paul (James) aren’t bad boys to fall back on,” Evans told the BBC on Thursday.

“If I don’t take it, there are two boys behind me, Paul and Gethin, who will,” he added.

Evans will start the match alongside Samson Lee and Scott Baldwin on Sunday, while fellow front-rowers Jenkins and Tomas Francis will start on the bench.
