Bruins battered; Fleury inspires Penguins

The Anaheim Ducks made it three successive wins as they beat the Boston Bruins 6-2 with Corey Perry, David Perron, Ryan Kesler and Shea Theodore each returning a goal and an assist.

Mike Santorelli and Kevin Bieksa also scored for Anaheim, who have won five of the last six ahead of the All-Star break, while Zach Trotman and Zdeno Chara netted for the Bruins.

Bruins goaltender Jonas Gustavsson, who had made 14 saves from 16 shots in the first period, left the game because of illness and was taken to the hospital.

Marc-Andre Fleury made 25 saves as the Pittsburgh Penguins shut out the New Jersey Devils for a 2-0 win.

The shutout was Fleury’s fourth of the season and 42nd in his career. Sidney Crosby and Phil Kessel scored the goals for the Penguins, who are a point behind the third-placed New York Islanders in the Metropolitan Division.

Eddie Lack also secured a shutout, his second in four games, as the Carolina Hurricanes thrashed the Chicago Blackhawks 5-0.

Riley Nash scored twice, Jeff Skinner had a goal and an assist and John-Michael Liles and Joakim Nordstrom also found the net.

Boone Jenner and Scott Hartnell scored powerplay goals in the first period to set up the Columbus Blue Jackets’ 5-2 win against the Montreal Canadiens.

The other Blue Jackets goals came from Brandon Dubinsky, Cam Atkinson and a Brandon Saad empty netter. Devante Smith-Pelly and Alex Galchenyuk scored for Montreal, who are 2-7-1 in their last 10 games.

Robin Lehner starred for the Buffalo Sabres with 34 saves against the team that drafted him as the Ottawa Senators were beaten 3-2 at Canadian Tire Centre.

Rookie Jack Eichel scored two goals as Buffalo came from 2-1 down to end a three-game losing streak. Erik Karlsson and Bobby Ryan scored for the Senators, either side of Evander Kane’s leveller.

Florida Panthers goaltender Roberto Luongo made 22 saves in a 5-1 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs while rookie Nikolaj Ehlers scored his first NHL hat-trick as the Winnipeg Jets defeated the Arizona Coyotes 5-2.

The Nashville Predators beat the Vancouver Canucks 2-1 and the San Jose Sharks were 6-1 winners over the Colorado Avalanche.
