Semisi Masirewa is looking to put his injury frustrations behind him as he prepares for a first season in Super Rugby with the Force.
The 23-year-old, born in Fiji, has impressed for Waikato and Manuwatu in the ITM Cup, the result being the offer of a Super Rugby contract with the Perth-based franchise.
A broken ankle derailed Masirewa's Super Rugby ambitions last year when he was chasing a contract with New Zealand-based franchises.
That setback however has only made him hungrier for a second chance.
“As soon as I did my ankle I thought it was going to affect my Super Rugby career and dream but I was lucky the Force offered me a contract,” Masirewa told the ARU website.
“When I got here the boys had been working hard for pre-season. Sitting on the sidelines watching them work hard was pretty tough.
“Now that I’m back full training it’s pretty good to pay them back and earn the respect, show them I’m working hard as well.”
