Seam bowler Nuwan Kulasekara has been called up to replace injured fast bowler Dhammika Prasad in Sri Lanka's squad for the upcoming five-match series against New Zealand.
Prasad picked up a back injury while playing in a warm-up match ahead of the first Test and was ruled out of the entire tour which also includes two Tests and two T20Is.
The uncapped Vishwa Fernando had replaced Prasad in the Test squad but the selectors decided to go with the 33 year-old Kulasekara, who has played in 168 ODIs, in the 50-over format.
Kithuruwan Vithanage, who is already in New Zealand with the Test squad, will stay on for the limited-overs games to cover for Kusal Perera who was sent home after testing positive for a banned substance.
Sri Lanka are currently one-nil down in the two-match Test series while the first ODI takes place on Boxing Day.
