NBA Wrap: Cavs win as Irving makes comeback

Kyrie Irving’s NBA comeback ended on a high as the Cleveland Cavaliers demolished the Philadelphia 76ers 108-86. 

Irving finished with 12 points in the game, but LeBron James stole the spotlight for the Cavaliers as he dropped 23 points on 10 of 17 shooting. 

Nerlens Noels recorded a double-double for the Sixers, which consisted of 15 points and 12 rebounds. 

Karl-Anthony Towns scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Brooklyn Nets 100-85. 

Towns was well supported by Gorgui Deng, who dropped 20 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. 

Brook Lopez had 20 points and 12 rebounds for the Nets. 

A 29-point night from Chris Bosh saw the Miami Heat edge the Portland Trail Blazers 116-109. 

Hassan Whiteside also starred for the Heat as he scored 22 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked five shots.

Damian Lillard was the Trail Blazers’ best player with 32 points and nine assists. 

Michael Carter-Williams came close to recording a triple-double as the Milwaukee Bucks downed the Phoenix Suns 101-95. 

Carter-Williams ended up with 20 points, nine rebounds and six assists while Khris Middleton had 26 points and seven assists. 

Eric Bledsoe and TJ Warren both scored 18 points for the Suns. 

Kyle Korver went six of eight from the three-point line as the Atlanta Hawks skirted past the Orlando Magic 103-100. 

Korver finished with a team-high 19 points while Hawks power forward Paul Millsap registered a double-double, which consisted of 13 points and 13 rebounds. 

Nikola Vucevic had another excellent performance for the Magic as he scored 20 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. 

The Sacramento Kings beat the Toronto Raptors 104-94 at the Air Canada Centre. 

Rajon Rondo starred for the Kings as he scored 19 points and dished out 13 assists while Rudy Gay dropped 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. 

DeMar DeRozan was the Raptors’ top scorer with 28 points. 

Anthony Davis went nine of 13 from the field as the New Orleans Pelicans triumphed over the Denver Nuggets 130-125. 

Davis, who scored a career-high 19 points in the first quarter, ended up finishing with 27 points, six rebounds and four blocks. 

Will Barton came off the bench to score 32 points and pull down 10 rebounds for the Nuggets.
