Utah Jazz guard Alec Burks will be out of action for an unknown period of time after he broke the fibula in his left leg on Saturday.
Burks, who sustained the injury in the second quarter of his side’s 109-104 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, underwent an MRI scan on Sunday morning, which revealed the injury. However, it has been confirmed that he does not require surgery.
Burks is the third Jazz player to succumb to a serious injury as center Rudy Gobert is still sidelined with a sprained MCL, while point guard Dante Exum is out of the season with a torn ACL.
The Jazz will sorely miss Burks as the 24-year-old is averaging 14.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game this season.
