NBA Wrap: Cavaliers skirt past Nuggets

LeBron James scored 32 points as the Cleveland Cavaliers downed the Denver Nuggets 93-87 at the Pepsi Center on Tuesday. 

James, who also grabbed six rebounds, received some excellent support from Iman Shumpert, who scored 16 points. 

Will Barton had another terrific night for the Nuggets as he came off the bench to score 29 points on 11 of 20 shooting. 

Carmelo Anthony had a superb all-round performance as the New York Knicks beat the Detroit Pistons 108-96. 

Anthony scored 24 points, grabbed six rebounds, dished out six assists and recorded one steal. 

Ersan Ilyasova had 19 points and six rebounds for the Pistons. 

Al Horford scored 30 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as the Atlanta Hawks edged the Houston Rockets 121-115. 

Horford was well supported by Paul Millsap, who dropped 22 points and pulled down 13 rebounds. 

Dwight Howard was Rockets’ best player with 30 points and 16 rebounds. 

The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Miami Heat 99-90 in overtime at the FedExForum. 

Grizzlies center Marc Gasol scored 29 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while Heat power forward Chris Bosh dropped 22 points and pulled down five rebounds. 

Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant combined for 53 points as the Oklahoma City Thunder triumphed over the Milwaukee Bucks 131-123. 

Westbrook finished with 27 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, while Durant ended up with 26 points, six rebounds and eight assists. 

Khris Middleton was the Bucks’ top-scorer with 36 points.
