Twins get negotiation rights for Park

The Minnesota Twins have won the bid of $12.85 million for the negotiation rights for Korean first baseman Byung-ho Park.

The Nexen Heroes of the Korea Baseball Organization confirmed that they had accepted a bid for Park. 

Park's representatives and the Twins now have 30 days to iron out an agreement on a contract.

The a 29-year-old has been in great form in Korea, hitting a total of 105 home runs in the past two seasons.

Last season, the first baseman hit 53 homers with a .343 batting average including 146 RBIs and 10 stolen bases. He is also a former team-mate of Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Jung Ho Kang.
