Former Real Madrid manager Fabio Capello revealed he had heard from a reliable source that the club were ready to spend an eye-watering €500 million in the upcoming transfer window.
AS reports that Capello revealed to Sky Italia he has it on good authority from a club source “who knows a lot about Real Madrid” that the club were prepared to spend up to €500 million in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The mammoth budget has reportedly been requested by recently returned manager Zinedine Zidane, who re-joined the club in a position of power after a dismal season under Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari.
Thai Sub – Pogba ‘will be very welcome’ at Real Madrid says Casemiro
There are a number of players that Zidane is targetting in order to fuel a summer overhaul, foremost among them being Chelsea’s Eden Hazard. Manchester United’s Paul Pogba, Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen are also names heavily being touted with a move to the Spanish capital.
However, it is also reported that while Zidane is keen on bringing Paul Pogba to Real Madrid, the club’s hierarchy isn’t convinced with the player’s lack of application and the listless performance against Barcelona in the Champions League quarterfinals hasn’t done him any service either.
Porto defender Eder Militao has reportedly been as good as confirmed as a new Madrid player while Santos forward Rodrygo Goes has rleady joined.
FOX Sports Asia probability rating 2.5/5: Real Madrid really do need a squad overhaul but splurging €500 million in one transfer window does seem a little too extreme, even for Florentino Perez.
