Dubai Open winner Arjun Atwal thanked former world number one Tiger Woods for his friendship.
India's Atwal has had a tough time in recent years, with his win at the Els Club in Dubai his first in four years. After his win he revealed that Woods has been supportive of him during his struggles.
The pair used to be neighbours in Florida, and it seems a friendship sprung up between them.
After his win Atwal revealed to the media Woods had sent him a text before his final round. The text read: "Shoot two-under a side; shoot 68 and you should be good. He was wrong."
He added: "Going through his two years of struggle, he' s always been nothing but positive. I've spent some time with him, and he's always guided me on the right way I should go with my game or my health, and how to go about rehabbing.
"There's very few friends in the world that will be there for you when you need them the most, and he's one of them. And I'm there for him as well."
