The struggling Premier League side are keen to get the former Newcastle boss in place before the New Year???s Day match against Aston Villa.
Palace have already agreed a compensation package with Newcastle for Pardew to return to the club where he made more than 100 appearances as a player between 1987 and 1991.
After the visit to Villa Park on Thursday, Palace travel to Dover on Sunday for an FA Cup third round tie.
Pardew’s first home game would be at Tottenham on January 10, followed by games against Burnley, Everton and Leicester.
And Pardew would come up against Newcastle at Selhurst Park on the February 11.
Keith Millen, who was??assistant to Neil Warnock before he was sacked on December 27, took charge of the 0-0 draw with QPR on Sunday has expressed his intent to continue his role if required but stated he wanted a swift appointment, whoever that was.
Millen said on Tuesday: “As far as I’m concerned, the chairman has told me to prepare for Aston Villa. It’s important myself and the players stay focused on that.
???I spoke to the chairman and he said Newcastle compensation has been agreed and we’ve been given permission to speak to Alan.??That was literally all I was told and nothing???s changed since then.
“When I’ve done this before it’s dragged on for a few weeks.??That starts having an effect on the group, the not knowing. The January transfer window will be very important to the club. I think the timing of it all, if it can be done as quickly as possible, that would help us.”??
