Dwayne Bravo first scored a vital 31 then took four wickets as the West Indies beat hosts Sri Lanka by 23 runs in the second and final T20I in Colombo on Wednesday.
After winning the toss and deciding to bat first, the Windies posted a total of 162 for six and then bowled their opponents out for 139 to complete their only victory on an otherwise miserable tour.
The score of 162 was built around an opening partnership of 62 in just over six overs between Johnson Charles (34) and Andre Fletcher (23).
However three wickets fell quite quickly before Bravo and Andre Russell (9) put on 22 before Russell was out in the 12th over.
Wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin then gave Bravo some support as the two put on 41 in five overs with Ramdin contributing an unbeaten 34 off 22 balls to the eventual total.
In the home team's reply, only opener Tillakaratne Dilshan (52) and Shehan Jayasuriya (30) put up any resistance as Bravo and seamer Ravi Rampaul (three for 20) made the key breakthroughs.
After being whitewashed in the two Tests and three ODIs, and losing the first T20, the Caribbean outfit would at least be pleased to be going home with a win under their belts.
