Rangers roll on

The Rangers made in 12 wins in their last 13 games as they overcame the team that defeated them in last season’s Stanley Cup final.

Tanner Pearson and Justin Williams put the Kings 2-0 ahead but the visitors responded with four straight from Dan Boyle, Kevin Klein, Lee Stempniak and Martin St Louis, rendering Williams’ second a mere consolation.

Niklas Svedberg needed to make just 14 saves for his shutout as two goals from Milan Lucic and another from Carl Soderberg helped the Boston Bruins to a 3-0 win over the New Jersey Devils.

Corey Crawford made 42 saves as the Chicago Blackhawks battled to a 4-2 win over the Minnesota Wild.

Patrick Sharp and Patrick Kane had the Blackhawks 2-0 up before Jason Zucker grabbed one back going into the third period.

Bryan Bickell then netted twice in the final stanza with Jason Pominville scoring for the Wild.

Jakub Voracek scored the vital goal in overtime for the Philadelphia Flyers as they beat the Washington Capitals 3-2 and Shea Weber netted twice, including the extra-period winner, as the Nashville Predators overcame the Dallas Stars by the same score.

The St Louis Blues had seven different scorers in a 7-2 win over the San Jose Sharks while Mikkel Boedker netted twice for the Arizona Coyotes who beat the Winnipeg Jets 4-1.

In the night’s other games, the Carloina Hurricanes beat the Buffalo Sabres 5-2, the Colorado Avalanche beat the Ottawa Senators by the same score and the Florida Panthers overcame the Vancouver Canucks 3-1.
