The world number two's participation was confirmed at Tuesday's media launch.
Federer will be playing in four clay court tournaments ahead of the French Open.
He will start his clay court campaign in Monte Carlo from April 12 before heading to Istanbul where the tournament takes place from April 27 to May 3.
That will be the start of a three-week run for Federer with Masters 1000 events in Madrid and Rome.
The French Open starts on May 24.
