Wozniacki faces Azarenka again

The Dane advanced to the last eight after Alexandra Dulgheru retired while trailing 6-1 3-0, paving the way for a clash against Azarenka, who defeated the former world No 1 in the second round at the Australian Open.

“She beat me last time in Australia, so I have to play my best,” said Wozniacki. “But it’s a new place, it’s a new tournament, and hopefully I can do better this time.???

Azarenka booked her place in the next stage with a 6-3 6-7 6-1 win over Elina Svitolina as she maintained her pursuit of a third Qatar title.

Jelena Jankovic also withdrew with a hip problem, handing victory to top seed Petra Kvitova, who was leading 6-1 1-1.
