Nadal into Buenos Aires semis

The top seed needed just 62 minutes to record a 6-1 6-1 victory and set up a last four encounter with another Argentinian, Carlos Berlocq, who was similarly impressive in beating Blaz Rola of Slovenia 6-1 6-3.

Nicolas Almagro, the 2011 champion, claimed a surprise 6-3 6-2 win over second seed and fellow Spaniard Tommy Robredo.

Almagro will face former world number 10 Juan Monaco after the Argentinian edged to a 7-6 (7/1) 6-7 (4/7) 6-4 upset triumph over third seeded Uruguayan Pablo Cuevas.
