Berlocq dumps out fifth seed

The 32-year-old Argentinian lost the first set but bounced back to record a 4-6 7-6 (10/8) 6-4 triumph over his Spanish opponent in a match lasting three hours and six minutes as he searches for his third ATP title.

Seventh seed Mikhail Kukushkin held on to see off another Spaniard in Albert Ramos-Vinolas in Casablanca on Monday.

Kazakhstan’s Kukushkin raced to a 6-1 first-set win before losing the second 6-2, but came out on top after a 6-3 third-set win to advance to the second round.

Also on Monday, Germany’s Dustin Brown made light work of Russian opponent Andrey Kuznetsov, with a straight-forward 6-2 6-4 victory in just over an hour on Court Central.
