Kyrgios out of Monte Carlo Masters

He was due to make a start to the clay court season by playing at the Monte Carlo Masters next week but has now decided rather to play in the following week's Barcelona Open in Spain.

The Australian has been training in Canberra readying himself for the clay of Europe leading into the French Open in May.

Kyrgios has been a bit injury prone in the first two years of his career and his team do not want to rush a return after his recent ankle sprain at Indian Wells.

The tournament in Barcelona will kick-off a busy time for the 19-year-old with the French Open starting from May 19 and Wimbledon at the end of June.
