Relentless Rafa marches on at SW19

Roland Garros champion Rafael Nadal continued to look the part on grass as he defeated Donald Young in straight sets at Wimbledon on Wednesday.

The Spaniard wrapped up a 6-4, 6-2, 7-5 victory in a little over two hours to set up a third-round clash with Russian Karen Khachanov.

Nadal broke Young's serve in the very first game of the match and never really looked back, even if his opponent proved a tenacious foe at times.

There were no further breaks in the first set but Nadal hung on to his advantage to go into a one-set lead.

Again, Young allowed himself to get broken in the first game of the second set and the World No 43 then came under huge pressure in game five, saving four break points before finally surrendering the fifth.

Nadal raced into a two-sets-to-love lead and then broke Young's serve for a fourth time to take a 4-3 lead in the third.

To the American's credit, he conjured up a break from nowhere as Nadal tried to serve out the match – much to the delight of the Centre Court crowd.

But Nadal did not waver, breaking back immediately before bringing the match to a hasty conclusion by holding to love.

"I'm happy now, it's great to be back in the third round without losing a set," the Spaniard said.

"I take it easy now, just trying to enjoy every moment. I'm having a great season."
