Johanna Konta has seemingly put her Roland Garros disaster behind her after she beat Tara Moore and recorded her 300th win on the WTA tour at the Aegon Open on Tuesday.
Konta departed Roland Garros in the first round again this year – despite being the eighth best player in the world she has never won a match in the main draw of the year’s second grand slam.
However, the Briton has moved on from all that. On Tuesday at the Aegon Open she defeated compatriot Moore 6-2, 3-0 (retired).
While Moore is nowhere near Konta’s level, the latter still looked extremely comfortable in her first match on grass in the build-up to Wimbledon.
She served, moved, attacked and defended impressively in the short amount of time she spent on court before her opponent retired with a leg injury.
The victory also marked Konta’s 300th triumph on the WTA tour.
