Iguana stops play at Miami Open

Court 1 at the Miami Open in Florida had a surprise guest on Wednesday, with a three-foot reptile thrilling players and fans alike.

Tommy Haas was set to serve against Jiri Vesely in their first round match, when the creature parked itself on top of a courtside electronic scoreboard, arguably one of the best seats in the house.

Vesely went and sat down, saying telling the chair umpire he couldn’t concentrate, while Haas was not fazed at all, getting close enough to take this unique selfie..

Special selfie @miamiopen , thanks for coming out to watch some Tennis ??

But the fun had only just begun, as the iguana was keen on a victory lap of the court.
