Andy Murray advanced to the second round of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships while Stan Wawrinka was knocked out on Tuesday.
The world number one needed 79 minutes to ease past Malek Jaziri 6-4, 6-1 on the hard courts of Dubai.
The Tunisian drew first blood, breaking the top seed in the third game but Murray broke right back and again in the final game to take the set.
The Scot was much better in the second set, crushing winners from all over the court to break Jaziri twice to win the match. Murray will face Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in the second round.

Meanwhile, second seed Wawrinka was knocked out after an inspired performance by Damir Dzumhur.
The Bosnian – currently ranked 77th in the world – came back from 3-0 down in the opening set to defeat Wawrinka 7-6(4), 6-3.
"I was not good enough," said the Swiss after the match.
"I think I started well, but it was a tough match, missing a little bit something to push a little bit more to be a little bit more active. I think after coming back after one month out, I had to recover from the [right knee] injury."
In other results, fifth seed Tomas Berdych advanced after Lukas Rosol was forced to withdraw 6-3, 2-1 down while seventh seed Lucas Pouille eased past Adam Pavlasek 6-2, 6-2.
