World number one Novak Djokovic has pulled out of next week's China Open in Beijing because of an elbow injury.
The Serb hasn't played since being beaten by Stan Wawrinka in the final of the US Open on September 12.
He would have been chasing a seventh title in Beijing, but now is not scheduled to return until the Shanghai Masters, which starts October 10.

"I am extremely disappointed not to be able to compete at the China Open this year," said Djokovic.
"I'm still recovering from my elbow injury and have been advised not to play until my condition improves.
"I will continue with my rehabilitation and hope to be able to return to the ATP Tour as soon as possible."
The tournament will still be a star-studded affair, with the likes of Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal and women's World No 1 Angelique Kerber set to take part.
