Asian contingent battle at SW19

In Monday’s first round men's matches there was only one winner when Japan's Kei Nishikori beat Italian Simone Bolelli in five sets.  The players that crashed out were Go Soeda and Hiroki Moriya of Japan and Korea's Hyeon Chung.

In the women's draw Chinese Taipei's Su-Wei Hsieh was the only winner when she beat Estonia's Kaia Kanepi in straight sets. Chinese trio of Lin Zhu, Yi Fan Xu and Qiang Wang all lost their matches in straight sets.

On Tuesday in the men's draw Yen-Hsun Lu of Chinese Taipei and Japan's Yuichi Sugita will be in action hoping to reach the second round.

In the women's draw on Tuesday there are four players in action, China's Saisal Zheng and Ying-Ying Duan along with Japan's Misaki Doi and Kurumi Nara, who will be hoping to keep the Asian flag flying at this Wimbledon into the later rounds.
