Murray advances to semi-finals in Cincinnati

Top seed Andy Murray booked his spot in the semi-finals of the Western & Southern Open on Friday after he defeated Bernard Tomic 6-4, 6-4. 

Murray is currently on a three-tournament winning streak as he triumphed at the Aegon Championships, Wimbledon and the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

The world number two will take on fourth seed Milos Raonic, who he last faced in the final at Wimbledon, after the Canadian saw off eighth seed Dominic Thiem 6-3, 6-4.

In the other semi-final, 12th seed Marin Cilic will face Grigor Dimitrov. Cilic advanced at the expense of Borna Coric, who retired midway through their match, while Dimitrov downed Steve Johnson 7-6 (8), 6-2.
