Ivo Karlovic secured his second ATP Tour title of the year at the Abierto Mexicano Los Cabos.
The big-serving Croatian defeated top seed Feliciano Lopez 7-6 (7), 6-2 to add to the title he won at the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships in Newport last month.
it was once again Karlovic's serve that did the damage, with the 37-year-old firing down 21 aces and facing just one break point in the match, which he duly saved.
After edging the first set tiebreaker, Karlovic made his move with the opening break of the match in the sixth game of the second set to go 4-2 up. He didn't look back from there, winning the next two games to secure the victory.
"It was a difficult match in the beginning," Karlovic said after the match. "He was playing really well. I was a little lucky at the end of the first set, but that gave me confidence for the rest of the match. I realised what he was doing and took my opportunities.
"Everyone here is really nice to me. The venue is unbelievable. I hope to come back next year."
