Madison Keys has booked her spot in the final of the Rogers Cup courtesy of a 6-2, 6-1 over qualifier Kristina Kucova.
Keys needed just 50 minutes to end Kucova's incredible run in Montreal. The world number 112 had beaten eighth seed Carla Suarez Navarro, local favourite Eugenie Bouchard, and 10th seed Johanna Konta on her way to the last four, but finally came unstuck against Keys.
The 10th-seeded Keys was in dominant form on Saturday, winning 85 per cent of points on her own serve and did not have to stave off a single break point, while breaking Kucova twice in each set.
Keys' victory sets up a final showdown with Simona Halep who survived a hard-fought encounter with second seed Angelique Kerber to triumph 6-0, 3-6, 6-2.
