Defending champion Serena Williams could face Heather Watson and Roberto Vinci en route to the final of the Wimbledon Championship this year.
The world number one faced her toughest test of last year's tournament against Watson in the third round, and could face the British number two at the same stage this time around,.
Vinci, who ended Williams' Grand Slam hopes in the semi-finals of the US Open last year, is the top seed's expected quarter-final opponent.
The 2012 finalist Agnieszka Radwanska – who could face Williams in the semi-finals – is expected to face British number one Johanna Konta in the last 16.
Second seed Garbine Muguruza, who lost to Williams in last year's final but got her revenge over her in the final at Roland Garros in 2016 – has been drawn against the older Williams sister, Venus, in the quarter-finals.
Also in Muguruza's side of the draw is 2016 Australian Open champion Angelique Kerber, who faces Laura Robson in the first round.
Robson beat Kerber in the first round at Wimbledon in 2011.
