Australian doubles specialist Casey Dellacqua has been forced to pull out of next month's Australian Open as she has not recovered properly from a concussion suffered in October during the Beijing Open.
According to a statement released by her manager Sam Maxwell, the 30-year-old Dellacqua has been diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome.
The injury has kept her from practising for two months after her fall in Beijing.
Maxwell added that Dellacque continues to suffer from neck pain and headaches that make playing impossible for now.
"Still not in a position where she is able to train to the level required to be able to play professional tennis," said Maxwell.
That means that Dellacqua has been ruled out from participating in the Sydney International and Hopman Cup.
