Agnieszka Radwanska stormed into the second round of Roland Garros by annihilating Bojana Jovanovski 6-0, 6-2 on Monday.
Radwanska is the number two seed at Roland Garros and she showed exactly why that is the case as she knocked-out Jovanovski in just over an hour of play.
In an emphatic performance Radwanska broke Jovanovski five times, won all her service games, pounded 22 winners and made only nine unforced errors.
Speaking afterwards Radwanska seemed satisfied with her performance but admitted that playing on clay in such cold and windy weather was not much fun.
“It was cold and windy,” she said in her post-match press conference.
“That’s why it was a little bit slow and the ball is not going anywhere.
“I think we all kind of used to that after couple of days here. The conditions are same for both of us.”
The Polish star now faces Caroline Garcia next after the latter recorded a 6-3, 7-5 triumph over Lesia Tsurenko.
Elsewhere, on another overcast day in the French capital, number four seed Garbiñe Muguruza recovered from a sluggish start against Anna Karolina Schmiedlova to record a 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 victory while former Roland Garros finalist Simona Halep cruised past Nao Hibino 6-2, 6-0.
