Led by their captain, Petr Pala, the Czech Republic won a tightly contested semi-final tie against Switzerland to remain on track to claim their third successive title.
Pala and his team of players will meet with France in the final after the latter beat the Netherlands.
In the opening rubber on Saturday, Barbora Strycova made light work of Timea Bacsinszky when she beat her 6-0, 6-2 to give the Czechs the ideal start.
However, aiming to reach their first ever Fed Cup final, the Swiss hit back straight away through Viktorija Golubic who triumphed over Karolina Pliskova in a three-set thriller.
Sunday followed a similar pattern to Saturday as first Pliskova put the Czechs back in the ascendency by beating Bacsinszky 6-4, 6-2 only for Golubic to again level matters, this time by proving too good for Strycova.
The doubles rubber was to decide the tie and the Czechs stormed into the finals when Lucie Hradecka and Pliskova recorded an emphatic 6-2, 6-2 win over the impressive Golubic and Martina Hingis.
