Rafael Nadal will face Andy Murray in the semi-finals of the Monte-Carlo Masters after the duo both notched up wins on Friday.
Nadal eased past fourth seed Stan Wawrinka 6-1, 6-4 on the sun baked clay courts of the port city.
The Spaniard needed just 26 minutes to earn two breaks and wrap up the opening set against the French Open champion.
Nadal continued his form into the second set, breaking Wawrinka in the fifth game. While the Swiss broke back to get back on serve, a final break would leave Nadal the opportunity to serve out the match, which he did.

Earlier in the day, second seed Murray crushed Milos Raonic, 6-2, 6-0 in just 67 minutes.
The Scot was in flying form, wrapping up the contest against the hapless tenth seed without even facing a break point.
However, Murray heads into the clash with Nadal having lost seven of their last ten clashes, with four of those losses coming on clay.
