Sabine Lisicki will not play again this season due to a knee injury suffered prior to the US Open.
The German played through the pain at Flushing Meadows on her way to the fourth round where she was beaten by Simona Halep, but will now be confined to the sidelines.
"Like most of you know I've been struggling with a knee injury before and during the U.S. Open," Lisicki wrote on her official Facebook page.
"Ever since I got back to Germany I've been taken care of by Dr Muller Wohlfahrt and now Klaus Eder who have tried everything in order to get me ready for the Asian swing, but unfortunately my knee is not ready and I will not compete at tournaments this season."
The 26-year-old, who ranked 28th in the world, went without a title this year.
