Mannarino, Vesely win at Shenzhen Open

Adrian Mannarino of France reached the second round of the Shenzhen Open after beating countryman Lucas Pouille in straight sets on Tuesday in China.

Fifth-seeded Mannarino was too strong for the unseeded Pouille, winning 6-0, 6-3.

In other men's matches, hometown boy Zhang Zhizhen beat Go Soeda of Japan 6-4, 6-4 and Lukas Rosol of Czech Republic got past Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan in straight sets, winning 7-6(4), 6-4.

Sixth seed Jiri Vesely of the Czech Republic was too strong for China's Zhang Ze, going through with a 6-3, 6-2 win, Japan's Hiroki Moriya beat Ricardas Berankis of Lithuania 6-4, 6-3.

China's Bai Yan was too good for Japan's Takuto Niki, winning in straight sets 6-1 7-5 while South Korea's Chung Hyeon hammered China's Wu Di 6-1, 6-0.

Eighth seed Victor Estrella Burgos of Dominican Republic was pushed to three sets by Australian qualifier Matthew Ebden before winning 4-6, 7-6(3), 6-4.

British seventh seed Aljaz Bedene easily beat Russia's Mikhail Youzhny 6-3, 6-3 and Simone Bolelli of Italy got past Austria's Andreas Haider-Maurer in straight sets, winning 6-2, 7-6(2).
