Japan's Nao Hibino won her first WTA singles title when she beat Donna Vekic 6-2, 6-2 in Saturday's Tashkent Open final.
Hibino's pace and accurate serve proved a problem throughout for her Croatian opponent, who appeared increasingly agitated with the partisan crowd in the Uzbekistan capital.
The world number 117 held serve throughout and took advantage of Vekic's unforced errors – which included nine double faults – with aplomb.
Hibino had only appeared in two WTA main draws in her fledgling career, the 2015 Japan Women's and Dalian Opens, reaching the second round on both occasions.
World 137 Vekic has had a disappointing season on the WTA Tour, failing to reach any finals, her only previous title coming at the 2014 Malaysian Open.
