Keys, Vinci through in China

American Madison Keys and Italy's Roberta Vinci won their second round singles matches at the China Open on Monday.

The 14th seed Keys came from a set down to beat Ukraine's Kateryna Bondarenko 3-6, 6-1, 6-0 in one hour and 27 minutes.

Vinci, seeded 15th, had no trouble beating Belgium's Alison Van Uytvanck 6-3, 6-2 and seventh seed Carla Suarez Navarro of Spain defeated Puerto Rican qualifier Monica Puig 7-6(1), 6-2.

Unseeded Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of Russia beat Ukraine's 16th seed Elina Svitolina 6-4, 1-6, 6-3. 

Polish fourth seed Agnieszka Radwanska was made to work hard before beating Germany's Mona Barthel in over two hours eventually winning 4-6, 6-1, 6-4.

In first round matches, Australia's Samantha Stosur cruised past Monica Niculescu of Romania 6-3, 6-2, and Mirjana Lucic-Baroni of Croatia was made to battle before getting past Romania's Irina Begu 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.

German 13th seed Andrea Petkovic got a win over Canada's Eugenie Bouchard, who retired injured while trailing 6-2, 1-1 and Swiss 11th seed Belinda Bencic beat Madison Brengle of America 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-3.

In the final game of the day, Svetlana Kuznetsova over came a first-set loss to beat Sloane Stephens 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 to book her place in the next round.
