Tomas Berdych won the rain-delayed Shenzhen Open title in China after beating Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in Mondays final.
The Czech top seed won in straight sets against the Spanish fourth seed 6-3, 7-6(7), in a match that was disrupted by rain in the second set but Berdych never let up and went on to win in one hour and 48 minutes. This was his 11th ATP World Tour title.
Due to the heavy rain over the last few days, the semi-finals were only completed on Sunday in Shenzhen and the final was put back to Monday.
In the first set, in game four, Berdych broke serve and went on to win the set 6-3.
Garcia-Lopez started off brilliantly in the second set to lead 3-0, but the top seed fought back, breaking serve to get back to level terms.
The match went to a second set tie-breaker, which proved to be a tight affair with Berdych saving a set point to eventually win the breaker 9-7 and the match to clinch the title.
