Stan Wawrinka and Tomas Berdych both advanced to the fourth round of the BNP Paribas Open on Monday.
Wawrinka, seeded third for the Masters 1000 event, rolled over Andrey Kuznetsov 6-4, 7-6(5) in a touch over an hour on the hard courts at Indian Wells.
The Swiss saved a solitary break point in to hold serve and go 5-3 up in the opening set before he broke Kuznetsov to clinch the set.
The duo swapped service games on their way to a tiebreaker, which Wawrinka dominated.
The win earns the two-time grand slam winner a clash with David Goffin, who defeated Guido Pella 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 earlier in the day.
Sixth seed Berdych made short work of Borna Coric, defeating him 6-1, 7-6(3), despite a strong second set comeback from the Croatian.
In other results, former US Open champion Marin Cilic defeated Leonardo Mayer 6-4, 6-3 while eighth seed Richard Gasquet came back from a set down to beat Alexandr Dolgopolov 2-6, 6-2, 6-1.
Finally, 13th seed Gael Monfils trumped Albert Ramos-Vinolas 6-1, 6-3.
