Second-seeded Elina Svitolina of the Ukraine will meet Canadian sixth seed Eugenie Bouchard in Sunday’s final of the Malaysian Open.
On Saturday, Svitolina cruised past Zhu Lin of China 6-3, 6-3 in a match lasting 64 minutes.
In the first set things went with serve until the sixth game but the very next game Zhu dropped her serve and then again in the ninth for Svitolina to clinch the set 6-3.
Zhu started the next set well, breaking her opponent’s serve in the opening game but Svitolina broke back in the fourth game and again in the sixth to eventually win the set and match 6-3.
In the later semi-final, Bouchard spent 77 minutes on court to beat Naomi Broady of Great Britain 6-4, 6-3.
During the first set the only break of serve came in the first game, thereafter things went with serve for Bouchard to claim the set 6-4.
In the second set things went with serve until the fifth game when Broady had her serve broken and in the ninth game, she dropped serve again to give Bouchard the win.
