Isner knocked out in Buenos Aires

Fourth seed John Isner was dumped out of the Argentina Open on Tuesday as he lost to Dusan Lajovic 6-7 (10), 6-4, 6-7 (6) in the second round.

Isner found himself in trouble after losing the first set via a thrilling tiebreak. However, despite bouncing back by winning the second set, Isner was unable to complete a come-from-behind win as Lajovic emerged victorious in the decding tiebreak.

Lajovic will face fifth seed Dominic Thiem in the quarter-finals after the latter defeated Gastao Elias 3-6, 7-6 (7), 6-3 in a hard-fought battle.

Meanwhile, third seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga cruised past Leonardo Mayer 6-1, 6-2, while Nicolas Almagro downed Federico Delbonis 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. Tsonga and Almagro will now go up against each other in the quarter-finals.
