Russian duo Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Svetlana Kuznetsova will contest the final of the Kremlin Cup in front of their home fans in Moscow on Saturday.
Unseeded Pavlyuchenkova battled back from a set down to beat compatriot Daria Kasatkina to complete a 2-6 6-2 6-4.
After losing the first set, the 24-year-old also found herself 0-2 down in the second, but she roared back to life by winning the next eight consecutive games, wresting control of the match away from her opponent in the process.
It was Pavlyuchenkova's eighth consecutive victory, coming after her title victory last week in Linz.
Prior to Friday's semi-final she had already accounted for second seed Lucie Safarova, who still managed to qualify for the WTA Finals in Singapore.
Awaiting Pavlyuchenkova in the final is her countrywoman Kuznetsova, who defeated Lesia Tsurenko of Ukraine 6-2 6-4.
