Former world number four Juan Martin del Potro will look to make yet another return from injury at Delray Beach.
The 27-year-old featured in just two tournaments last year before undergoing a third surgery on a wrist injury that has plagued him since 2010.
Speaking in a YouTube video, the Argentine said that he is returning after “such a long period of incertitude” and “so many ups and downs.”
He called for caution though, admitting that a comeback may not immediately herald positive results, saying: “I know you are anxious to see me play, but I ask you for patience.”
Del Potro’s promising career has been stymied by injury, with the 2009 US Open winner having missed the last seven grand slams.
